You have just created your WordPress website, congrats! But it’s not over! For an optimal website in terms of safety, regulation or loading speed, I recommend 10 free plugins you need to have for a perfect website 🙂

1- Google Analytics Dashboard

In order to evaluate your website notoriety, it’s essential to track your traffic. To do this, you will need to create a Google Analytics account. Once done, the installation of the plugin Google Analytics Dashboard will allow you to have a report of your traffic of the last 30 days (number of visitors, sessions, time spent per page by your visitors…) on your WordPress dashboard.

2- Yoast SEO

Yoast SEO is the reference for the SEO. For every pages and articles, this plugin will allow you to manage your meta description, to indicate your main keyword and to visualize if it is sufficiently distilled in your content for the SEO, to check if your ALT tags are well informed…

3- Really Simple SSL

Having a secure https site is now mandatory, whether you have a showcase site or an e-commerce site, to optimize your SEO. An http site is now penalized by search engines. Therefore, to switch your http site to https easily, you just need to activate your SSL certificate with your host and then activate Really Simple SSL which will do the rest for you!

4- Cookie Notice

As part of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), it’s mandatory to inform your visitors that your website uses cookies. Once activated, Cookie Notice will display a banner at the top or bottom of your website that will allow visitors to accept cookies or learn more about your privacy policy.

5- UpdraftPlus

Save your WordPress website is man-da-to-ry! Even by protecting itself from attacks with dedicated plugins, the zero risk doesn’t exist. That’s the reason why, it’s strongly advised to make regular backups of sources files and database. UpdraftPlus will allow you to scheduled your backups and send them directly to your Google Drive, Dropbox,…

Previously, we talked about plugin to protect you from attacks, Cerber is aptly named! Just like the multi-headed dog of the Underworld, it will guard the gates of your website from hacker attacks and bots. You have nothing to do, install and activate the plugin, Cerber will stand guard for you!

7- WP Optimize

WP Optimize is a all-in-one plugin which will optimize the speed of your site. To do this, the plugin will clean your database, compress your images and purge the cache of your web site.

8- WPS Hide Login

WPS Hide Login is a plugin that will allow you to securely change the URL of your website login page. Actually, all WordPress connection Urls have by default the same suffix: /wp-admin. And that, hackers know it well! This is why it’s recommended to modify it. With WPS Hide login, you can easily specify what you want as a replacement.

9- Duplicate post

Duplicate Post will allow you to clone your existing pages or articles. This may be useful in the case of a multilingual website for example when you will have to recreate the same pages and articles by modifying only the language.

10- Lazy Loader

The more images your WordPress website will have, the longer it may take to load. This will irritate your visitors and penalize your SEO. Lazy Loader will only load images that appear in your visitors’ browser. This means that only the first images of the page or article will load initially. The following will load as the user scrolls through the page.
